Under the project of “Accelerating local action in humanitarian and health crises” (ECHO PPP) in year II it is planned to conduct a series of training on Auxiliary Role and Disaster Law for the RCST branches. The initiative commenced in the Bokhtar regional branch with a one-day training on February 02, 2024. The Project employee introduced the staff, members of national disaster response team and regional volunteers to the ECHO PPP pogramme, briefed them on the National Society Auxiliary Role, introduced with the Disaster Law, its directions including International Disaster Response Law (IDRL) and the status of DL and IDRL in Central Asia and Tajikistan. The training included a session on Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA).
The purpose of the training is to raise the awareness of the branches’ staff and volunteers on RCST’s auxiliary role to the government of Tajikistan and disaster law evaluation and reform that RCST supports. The experience of this first training shall be used to deliver the subsequent trainings in other branches.
