On 22 June 2023 within the framework of the project “Accelerating Local Action in Humanitarian and Health Crises” in Tajikistan, which has been running for more than a year with the financial support of the Directorate General of Humanitarian Office of the European Union (DG-ECHO) and partners of the Red Cross Movement and Red Crescent, including The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, German Red Cross, Finnish Red Cross and Italian Red Cross, which is being implemented by the Tajik Red Crescent Society (JHAT), the following humanitarian aid has been distributed among 317 Afghan migrant families in Vahdat city:
- Food parcel: (50 kg of wheat flour, 5 liters of vegetable oil, 5 kg of rice and 5 kg of sugar),
- Non-food items: (pot with cover, 10 liters),
- Hygiene Kit: (consisting of 18 items).
The main goal of providing this aid is to improve the living conditions of Afghan migrants who fled their country as a result of the unrest.
At the same time, in accordance with the requirements of the Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) mechanism, the project CEA on community issues interviewed every 7th beneficiary for the conduct of the Exit Survey after receiving humanitarian aid, and gave each beneficiary community engagement and accountability fliers.
According to the working plan of the project, the distribution of such aid in the city of Dushanbe and Rudaki district is also expected in the coming days.
