Red Crescent Society of Tajikistan in cooperation with Italian Red Cross under Country Action “Accelerating Local Action in Humanitarian and Health Crises in Tajikistan” of the DG ECHO Pilot Programmatic Partnership Programme conducted a three-day workshop training titled “Approaches to Migration and Displacement & MHPSS/PFA”, at Sugdiyan Hotel, Kjujand, 27-29 April 2023.
Mr. Nurullo Fayzalizoda, First Deputy Secretary-General welcomed all participants and made an opening speech, Ms. Dilorom Mirova Deputy Secretary-General also welcomed the audience and interpreted the importance of the migration and population movement spheres, Mr. Parviz Jabborzoda, Executive Secretary of the RCST Branch in Sughd province joined in welcoming speech as well. ECHO PPP Tajikistan team including Manager and PMER Officer as organizers of the event made all arrangements in time.
According to the workshop training agenda made by Mr. Fakhriddin Karimov, ECHO PPP Manager the Trainer was Mr. Fabrizio Anzolini, Representative of the Italian Red Cross in Central Asia. He made detailed presentation about migration and displacement and the significant activity of the IRC in population movement, including activities with migrants and refugees.
In according with the workshop training and with the aim of strengthening the acquired knowledge, the participants were divided into 3 groups and engaged in exercises and practical activities.
On 29 April 2023, the third day of the workshop training was dedicated to Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and Psychological First Aid (MHPSS and PFA). This part of the three-day workshop training was facilitated by Ms. Madina Irgasheva, physiological employee of the RCST Socio-Medical Department. Her presentation was titled “Providing Psychological First Aid to Volunteers”. She basically was presented delivering her Power Point slides, which were on support and care for volunteers, the importance of psychosocial support, risks, resilience and protective factors, personal factors, interpersonal factors, working conditions, organizational issues, stress, burnout (depression), understanding resilience, protective factors, how to deal with stress and etc. delivered to the workshop audience through interesting a presentation slides and exercises.
It was mentioned that psychological and social support of volunteers should always be taken into consideration. Necessary conditions should be created for their volunteering activities and achieving significant results. The participants of the training were divided into 3 equal groups, and with the aim of strengthening their acquired knowledge, they performed practical work.
At the end, all the workshop training participants were awarded a certificate of participation in the training for their active involvement. The certificate were awarded to the workshop participants by Mr. Parviz Jabborzoda, Executive Secretary of the RCST Branch in Sughd, Mr. Fakhriddin Karimov, ECHO PPP Manager, Mr. Fabrizio Anzolini, Representative of the Italian Red Cross in Central Asia and Ms. Madina Irgasheva, physiological employee of the RCST Socio-Medical Department.
We may proudly say that the workshop training was held in a friendly atmosphere and mutual understanding, confidence, respect, awareness of common challenges, which will contribute to the further development of partnership relations in the current and future conditions between the RCST and partners.
